Taher is a partner at the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department.
In 2019, and before moving to Shalakany, he was an advisor to an African State seated at the United Nations Human Rights Council. In the same year, he was a member of a working group tasked with preparing a report and study to a Congressional Committee on human rights violations along mineral supply chains in Africa. Most recently, he advised two African States on issues related to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, and sovereign immunity issues. From the period of 2018-2020 he was a member of counseling team giving advice to an Arab State in an international law dispute before different international tribunals (ICJ, PCA, and international investment tribunals). He also assisted in work with the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal.
He heads a team that practices in different areas of disputes, investigatory work, and ADR. Within the Egyptian market, he has established a reputation to be one of the leading lawyers handling US clients with disputes and legal matters either in Egypt or related to Egypt.
Academically Taher publishes in the fields of public international law, legal theory, and international relations.
Taher is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association, and the Egyptian Dental Syndicate.
