Biography
Marwa joined the Firm in 2001 after receiving her LLB from Cairo University, Marwa is an experienced trial lawyer who handles all types of civil cases at all stages of litigation, namely, first instance, appeal, and challenge.

Recently, Marwa finalized a portfolio of disputes in favor of Shalakany client, a major telecom company, against plaintiffs suing over the use of telecom towers.

Marwa is specialized in labor disputes and is well known in the field.

Representing employers, she has often obtained favorable judgments ruling for non-entitlement of employees to severance pay or compensation. These are often complex labor disputes concerning previous board members and executives.

She also handles negotiations and settlement proceedings between employers and employees including unions. This includes the successful completion of collateral labor negotiations with the employees of a client’s factory, preparing a collateral labor agreement, and having such an agreement approved by the Ministry of Manpower.

Marwa works on collateral labor agreements, drafts internal regulations, and handles labor, communications and telecom disputes.

She also handles disputes before GAFI and the tax authority.

Marwa handles and represents a variety of clients including Orange Egypt For Telecommunications, Amreyah Cement Company (CIMPOR), Sinai White Portland Cement Company, Arab Banking Corporation (ABC), Emirates NBD Egypt S.A.E, Schlumberger Logelco Inc., Arab Petroleum Pipelines (SUMED), Al Ahram Beverages and Mondelez International.

A practicing lawyer in Egypt, Marwa joined Shalakany in 2001 after receiving her LLB from Cairo University. Marwa covers all phases of litigation including trials and appeals before tribunals, first instance courts, and the Court of Cassation.
