As part of the SAM competition, participating university students are given a legal case that includes evidence, exhibits, relevant correspondence, and clients with varying concerns and legal issues driven form the International Willem C. Vis Moot Competition. The students act as counsel for each party and draft legal memoranda and plead on behalf of their client.

Six teams have participated in this First Virtual SAM: Cairo University – English Section, Cairo University – French Section (“IDAI”), Ain Shams – English Section, Al-Azhar University, Tanta University and Alexandria University. All students showed great performances and dedication to the competition.

Each year, new universities join the SAM and we encourage all university students to be a part of next year’s SAM.

This year, the best memoranda certificate was awarded to Cairo University – English Section.

The best oralist of the SAM was awarded to Ms. Perihane Mostafa, IDAI.

As to the Championship Round, it was between Cairo University – English Section and Alexandria University.

The winner of the First Virtual SAM is Alexandria University.

Shalakany takes this opportunity to congratulate all the teams for their impressive work and effort and congratulate Alexandria University on their impressive win.
